Light panels provide uniform illumination that can be described as soft, though in lighting terminology, "soft" typically refers to color temperature rather than light intensity. They emit a gentle, even light without beams, bright spots, or glare, ensuring a smooth and consistent lighting experience.
Back-lit panels provide an exceptional luminescent experience, offering even, flat light without the beam-like effects typical of bulb lighting. While the initial cost of back-lit panels may be slightly higher compared to side-lit panels, they boast lower operating expenses over time.
Light panels initially entered the market using side lighting techniques, which offer a cost-effective solution. These panels can be thin but may exhibit uneven intensity and lower lumens per watt output, resulting in higher operating costs. However, for applications that demand a nearly flush-mount appearance, a side-lit panel may still be considered ideal.
